Construction Updates

April 5, 2010

Commissioning is complete

The facility equipment is test run on clean water during the commissioning phase. The computer control system is operating and process set points are verified. We have successfully completed the Clean Water Test and the facility is ready to begin treating wastewater.

Construction Complete

Construction is complete and right on schedule. We are currently working on testing and start up of the process equipment and starting to fill the tanks.

Completing the landscaping

All site curb and asphalt is complete. We are currently working on the landscaping and continue the process equipment testing.

October 27, 2009

Mechanical equipment installed & testing process piping

Mechanical equipment is installed and process pipe is close to complete. We are currently testing all process piping. Site grading is complete and we will be placing curb and pavement soon.

UV Tank structure & hydrostatic testing is complete

The control building and head works roof tile is being set and the framing and drywall is complete in the control building. Site work is progressing, the effluent line and diversion structure is complete and we are currently working on the 42" influent line.

Equipment is being set

The joist and trusses are complete and the decking is being placed. The equipment is being set and the process pipe is being set in the tanks. We are also currently working on the UV tank.

June 25, 2009

Headworks and control masonry completed

The headworks and control masonry buildings are finished. We are setting the roof joist and trusses and working on the hydrostatic tank testing.

Topping slab complete

The topping slab above the tanks is complete. We are currently working on the masonry buildings and pouring the headwork's structure.

Preparing for the final pour

The electrical conduit and top reinforcement have been placed and completed. Half of the topping slab has been poured and we are preparing for the final pour. We are also working on the hydrostatic tank testing.

Precast Planks

The Precast Planks and Beams are complete and the Access Hatches are installed. We are currently roughing in the electrical conduit and preparing for the topping slab to be placed.

Tank Walls Completed

The Tank walls are complete, the Pre-Cast Beams and Planks are set, and we are currently working on the Membrane Tanks.

Tank Structure Nearing Completion

We are 95% complete on the tank structure and are making final preparations for the precast beams and planks to be placed.

Tank Walls

We have completed 75% of the tank walls. To date, we have poured 4,300 yards of concrete, which is equivalent to 90 single family homes.

Second half of foundation

The second half of the foundation was successfully poured on the October 31st. It took approximately 7 hours from start to finish and the total pour was 1200 yards of concrete. We are presently setting the wall rebar on the second half of the building.

Wall Rebar

All the wall rebar is in place and the walls are starting to come together. We are currently starting to place the second half of the mat slab.

Foundation Poured

The foundation was successfully poured on the September 23rd. It took approximately 8 hours from start to finish. The total pour was 1300 yards of concrete for half the mat slab.

Levee & Foundation

We have been building the levee and percolation ponds the past three weeks and they are 3/4 of the way done. The facilities' foundation is under construction and the walls are being formed.

Clearing and Grubbing

On July 15, the clearing and grubbing of citrus and avocado trees began. The mass grading and the levee construction of Santa Paula WRF started July 20th. The Levee is about 2/3 built. The excavation for the building was completed on August 25th. The percolation ponds are now being constructed and are about half done.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

Groundbreaking for the Water Recycling Facility occurred on July 7, 2008. It was attended by local, regional and state civic leaders, as well as members of the local community. The program consisted of brief comments from various company representatives and Mayor Gonzales, and was followed by a lunch catered by Laird's BBQ.

Introducing Santa Paula Water

On April 15, the Santa Paula City Council voted in favor of Santa Paula Water to build the City's new Water Recycling Facility.
